Winning

Every body likes to win. Nobody likes to lose. Losers get no prize and no trophy! Is that why nobody aims at being the last? I am more and more enamored with the game of football, even though I grew up watching and loving soccer. I am quite enthralled with the finals in football (the only thing I wish is that the season would start earlier and last longer). Football, I have come to realize, is more like life; it equates it in many ways. “Time out, defense, offence, special team, three and out, etc, etc.” All those motions can be found in our daily life. Soccer, on the other hand, is a run run run till you drop. Yes, there is strategy of course, but nothing in soccer equates the fact that you have to be ready and put it all out (strength) and then put it away. Just when you are enjoying to move forward, you have no choice but you go back and sit. Football for this is a very treacherous sport because of this. It wears you down (I bet and I guess since I never played it) simply because seconds are split into thousands or millions if you really want to be technical. And shear gambling chances you take on what to do next is simply mind boggling. Yes, everybody is preaching that most of the time, the first three quarters and the three quarters of the last are just a warming exercise. I do not agree because I think is that time that leads to the most exciting two minutes in sport, the last two of a football game. Now, if they come up with the loser bowl, (I guess they don‘t need to because we know Detroit would win almost every year) we would fill an afternoon of laughter. Enjoy the game. I know I will.
