How Do You Say Cheetos/Fritos in Indian?

Sometime in the late 80’s the vice president of Pepsico Foods for Asia came to us requesting that we contact our pasta machine manufacturing company in Italy and have a slider machine made for them (that’s what they called it) for the production of snacks in the state of Punjab, India. No manufacturer in Italy was willing to consider such a project, and because of my unwillingness to ever give up, I offered to give it a shot myself. I proceeded by hiring an engineer to design the machine and at the same time subcontracted the various machining jobs for it. I underestimated the cost (but not by much) and the timing (by only one month), but against all odds, I delivered to Pepsico Foods a working machine in less than six months.
