What do you get when you add "Romance" to a "Slurpee" or a "slush"? You get an Italian "Granita". The drink of the new millenium, I think it will expand much further until every home has its own machine. Granita can be anything you want it to be as long as it contains enough sugar (about 12-15%) to prevent it from freezing and the break down of the machine. The rest, from 100% fruit juice to 100% water and artificial flavor, you call the shots. You may add liquor to make margaritas and bellini , wine cooler, etc. The machines are vastly misunderstood due to the ignorance of the proper workings by the many "fly by night" companies peddling in these machines without any knowledge in how to operate, better yet, fix them when they are broken.
