As a resident of Arlington Texas and a business owner in this city also I have to show my appreciation for this city's shrewd marketing. When the Dallas cowboys made their intension known about building a new stadium Irving, a town that has hosted the cowboys for most of their adult life has indicated no intent in continuing to be their home next was Dallas whose mayor could not see past her nose and got involved in bad mouthing the owner of the cowboys saying that Dallas will not fatten his pocket. Arlington thought otherwise and grabbed the opportunity by the horn just as many rodeo riders do in competition and secured the deal. I personally have nothing but contempt for Dallas especially since this project could have been a center piece in the riverbed that will never be developed otherwise. I can only imagine how huge and wonderful this project would have been for the city of Dallas a yet it was lost because of the campaigning of a shortsighted mayor that has shorted the city for the next hundred years or more. I applaud my city of Arlington, its mayor, city council and all its wonderful citizens that voted for this project. Arlington will reap huge benefit out of this. We will have a very modern mix master at I-30 and Hwy 360 and will one day because of this get out of the shadow of Dallas and Fort Worth and rise to be equal to them I for one will promote as much I can that fact that to me they are no longer the Dallas Cowboys but the Arlington Cowboys.
